International Conference on Mediterranean Diet and Health
The “International Conference on Mediterranean Diet and Health: a lifelong approach” aims to review the current state of pathophysiological and clinical knowledge on the role of the Mediterranean Diet, and its components, in the prevention of major chronic diseases affecting the aged individuals, such as atherosclerosis, cancer, metabolic disorders, obesity, and dementia. Special focus will be on how to promote the adherence to the Mediterranean model from infancy to adulthood, and the actions to be taken in the field of education and dissemination, health policy and research, in order to improve the knowledge about the role of nutrition in the promotion of healthy aging, that surely requires a lifelong approach.
The goal of proposing innovative programs for education and implementation of guidelines, involving active cooperation of different disciplines, will be reach with the contributions of outstanding international scientists from different fields, from biology to clinical medicine, public health and communication.
